Oyo’s Former First Lady Draws Thousands at 22nd Unlimited Praise with Theme “Worship His Majesty”

IBADAN – The city of Ibadan came alive on Friday, April 3, 2026, not with political rallies or market clamor, but with the resounding echoes of worship. Chief Mrs Oluwakemi Alao-Akala, former First Lady of Oyo State, hosted the 22nd edition of her annual Unlimited Praise programme, a spiritual gathering that has grown from a personal vow into a landmark event drawing believers from across the Southwest.

This year’s theme, “Worship His Majesty,” reflected the essence of the event, rooted in a promise Mrs Alao-Akala made in 2005. After years of waiting for a child, she vowed to convene an annual praise gathering if God granted her mercy. That mercy came with the birth of her son, Olamikunle Alao-Akala, and the covenant has been faithfully kept ever since.

The Dome venue was charged with anticipation as the programme kicked off. Among those who led the congregation in prayer and teaching were Pastor Austin Ologbese, Lead Pastor of BreakForth Church; Senior Prophet G.F. David of Faith and Miracle International Church; and Bishop Henry Praise of the Sought Out Ministry. Pastor Ologbese’s sermon, “Where Did They Put Him?”, reminded attendees to seek Christ amid life’s challenges and trust in the transformative power of praise.

Music ministers lifted the spirits of all present. The Tabernacle of Praise Choir from BreakForth Church and the True Worshippers Choir of Ogbomoso opened with stirring harmonies, while Bam T. Dancers, a troupe of young performers, showcased worship through dance. Saxophonist Delight Omotosho and singer Mista Olamilekan delivered performances that moved many to tears, dancing, and spontaneous worship.

Throughout the event, Mrs Alao-Akala mingled with attendees, directing attention to God rather than herself. “In 2005, I stood before God with empty hands and a barren womb,” she recalled. “Today, I stand with children, with peace, with purpose, and with a testimony that He is still the God who answers by fire. This is not my programme; it is His. I am only the convener of what He started.”

The programme also provided a platform for testimony. Women shared stories of long-awaited children, entrepreneurs recounted renewed business fortunes, and young attendees spoke of newfound clarity in life decisions. For many, Unlimited Praise has become more than an event—it is a spiritual encounter where faith meets expectation.

As the evening concluded, the impact was evident. Chief Mrs Oluwakemi Alao-Akala’s 22-year labour of praise has created a sacred space where ordinary people experience extraordinary encounters with God. In a world often obsessed with fame and noise, Unlimited Praise stands as a testament to the power of covenant-keeping, gratitude, and devoted worship.
