VETERAN BROADCASTER, CHRISTIANAH ADEMULEGUN “EYE OPITAN” PASSES ON AT 74

The first indigenous broadcaster in Ekiti State, Christianah Ademulegun, popularly known as “Eye Opitan”, has passed away at the age of 74.

According to a statement released by her son, Femi Ademulegun, the veteran broadcaster died on Thursday after a brief illness.

Ademulegun was a trailblazer in the broadcasting industry, known for her distinctive voice and creative style of chanting Ekiti eulogies and praise poems. She had a distinguished career spanning several decades, retiring from the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State and consulting for private stations.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren. Her legacy as a pioneering broadcaster and cultural icon will be deeply missed in Ekiti State and beyond.
