Sadiku Takes Helm at Bankers All Stars, Promises Stronger Welfare and United Front

The newly elected President of the Bankers All Stars (BAS) Football Club, Abiodun Sadiku, has assured members of improved welfare, unity and stronger teamwork as he begins his tenure.

Sadiku emerged president on Saturday through an online voting process and described his election as a call to serve and strengthen the bond among members of the Ilorin-based all-star football club.

According to him, the focus of his administration will be to deepen team spirit while ensuring that the welfare and voices of members are prioritised.

“Together with my executive team, we will work to strengthen team spirit, improve our welfare, promote transparency, and ensure that every member feels valued and represented,” Sadiku said.

He noted that the pursuit of excellence would not be limited to matches alone but would also reflect in the conduct and relationships of members off the pitch.

“On the field, we will pursue excellence through discipline and teamwork. Off the field, we will continue to build strong relationships, promote wellness, and uphold the integrity of our profession,” he added.

Sadiku stressed that the club symbolises more than football, describing BAS as a platform that mirrors the values of unity, discipline and excellence that members practise daily as bankers.

“Football teaches us that success is never achieved alone; it requires trust, communication and collective effort. I therefore call on every member to remain committed, supportive and actively involved. With unity and shared purpose, there is no limit to what we can achieve,” he said.

The BAS president also pledged to build on the achievements of past leaders, promising to consolidate on the foundation laid by previous executives to further uplift the club.

Speaking earlier, the immediate past president, Temitope Ogundiya, said the club had remained a pace-setter among all-star football teams in Ilorin.

Ogundiya commended members for their dedication, particularly the prompt payment of dues despite the country’s challenging economic conditions, and urged them to extend the same level of support to the new leadership.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that other elected executives include Vice President, Tope Badmus; Captain, Segun Folorunsho; and Assistant Captain, Ismail Ajia.

Others are Welfare Officer, Abiodun Shola; Treasurer I, Hameed Mosobalaje; Secretary, Wahab Moshood; and Provost, Bolaji Ojo.
