OVER 50 YOUTH TRAINED BY NITDA-CISCO DL4ALL PARTNERSHIP‎

‎Under the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) initiative, fifty young Nigerians without jobs successfully finished a four-week intensive digital skills bootcamp. During this time, they learned practical skills in IT Essentials, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

‎The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Cisco organized the event, which was held at NITDA’s South West Zonal Office on Victoria Island in Lagos.

‎The Head of the South West Zonal Office, Mrs. Chioma Okee-Agugwo, spoke at the closing ceremony on behalf of NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa, emphasizing the initiative’s importance to Nigeria’s digital transformation.

‎This ceremony is more than just a farewell. It is the launchpad for new journeys—anchored in digital knowledge and powered by innovation,” she stated.

‎According to the Director General, the DL4ALL initiative is a strategic component of NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0), with particular emphasis on Digital Literacy, Emerging Technologies, and Youth Empowerment.

‎It is also in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which promotes economic diversification through digitisation, innovation, and skills acquisition.

‎Inuwa further explained that DL4ALL reflects Nigeria’s broader commitment to digital inclusion, ensuring that no one is excluded from the opportunities of the digital economy.

‎It contributes to the national objective of achieving 70% digital literacy by 2027, a target set by the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.

‎The goal of this vision is to give millions of Nigerians the skills they need to succeed in a world that is becoming more and more reliant on technology.

‎The NITDA head clarified that during the bootcamp, participants took part in practical learning activities intended to develop their technical expertise and digital leadership skills.

‎”We are just getting started,” he said. Our zonal strategy is bringing innovation closer to the communities where it is being implemented. In this way, we can democratize access and unleash the full digital potential of Nigeria.

‎Thanking Cisco for providing high-impact training, Inuwa urged stakeholders to keep funding collaborations, individuals, and platforms that promote digital inclusion.

‎With the ability to create solutions, safeguard infrastructure, and start tech businesses that address pressing issues, he claimed that the recently certified participants are now prepared to make a significant contribution to Nigeria’s digital economy.

‎By showcasing their knowledge in outstanding presentations at the conclusion of the bootcamp, participants showed how their knowledge of Data Science, AI, and IT Essentials had been integrated.

‎As entrepreneurs and providers of digital solutions in their communities, many spoke enthusiastically about how the program had increased their technical proficiency and inspired them to create jobs for others as well as for themselves.
