”‘National Gains, Not Politics’: Umahi Brutally Rebuts Abaribe on Bola Tinubu’s Infrastructure Legacy”.

‎… Cites Tinubu’s “Inclusive Governance” as Key to Southeast Progress

‎The Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has robustly defended President Bola Tinubu’s developmental record in the Southeast, dismissing claims of marginalization as politically motivated rhetoric.

‎Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, the Works Minister addressed recent comments made by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South), who suggested the region lacked justification to support the President’s potential 2027 bid. Umahi characterized the Senator’s remarks as a “personal attack” that ignores the tangible infrastructure gains currently unfolding in the zone.

‎Focusing on Infrastructure and Local Synergy Umahi asserted that the Southeast, which he described as having suffered decades of neglect under previous administrations, is experiencing a revitalization through federal audacity. He specifically cited the synergy between the Federal Government and the Abia State Administration.

‎“If we did not have the courage to bring this moment to the sub-nationals, Governor Otti would not be doing what he is doing,” Umahi stated, noting that Governor Alex Otti has acknowledged the enabling environment created by the Tinubu administration despite being in an opposition party.

‎Sbowing evidence of Inclusivity
‎While countering the narrative of exclusion, the Minister highlighted strategic appointments and security milestones, including the establishment of a new Army depot in Abia State.
‎The elevation of a Southeast indigene to the position of Chief of Naval Staff.

‎A significant list of ongoing road projects designed to integrate the region into the national economy.

‎‎The Minister urged the citizens of the Southeast to completely reject “narratives of exclusion” and embrace their role in the Nigerian project. “This country belongs to all of us. No one is a stranger; we all have equal rights,” he remarked.

‎In his closing statements, Umahi extended his defense to the administration’s broader economic agenda, pointing toward emerging stability in the currency, moderating inflation, and enhanced security operations as signs that the President’s reforms are yielding results.
