Makinde Thanks Tinubu, Security Agencies After Rescue of Abducted Oyo Pupils, Teachers

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies for the successful rescue of 46 pupils and teachers who were abducted in Orire Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Makinde described the development as a major relief for the state and the country, saying the safe return of the victims had remained his administration’s top priority since they were kidnapped.

“I want to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the support given throughout the operation. This is a huge relief, not just for Oyo State but for Nigeria as a whole,” the governor said.

Makinde also commended the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian military for working together to secure the victims’ freedom.

According to him, the coordinated efforts of the security agencies demonstrated the importance of collaboration in tackling insecurity and responding to emergency situations.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across Oyo State and ensuring the safety of residents, especially schoolchildren, while urging continued cooperation among all security stakeholders to prevent similar incidents.
