HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE LAUDS ALGON’S ‘PROOF OF ADDRESS’ INITIATIVE, CITING ALIGNMENT WITH DIGITAL REFORMS‎

‎The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, has commended the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) for its innovative “Proof of Address” initiative, describing it as a strategic intervention poised to strengthen governance and enhance administrative efficiency across the public sector.

‎During a courtesy visit by an ALGON delegation led by Hon. Sam Akala to her office, Mrs. Walson-Jack stated that the initiative is a welcome development that resonates deeply with the core objectives of the Federal Civil Service’s reform agenda. She noted that the project’s focus on digitalisation, data integrity, and institutional coordination directly supports the ongoing transformation within Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

‎The HCSF said. “A reliable and verifiable address system is fundamental to ensuring data integrity and seamless service delivery, adding that it aligns with the vision for a digitally-empowered Civil Service”.

‎Mrs. Walson-Jack assured the delegation of the support of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) in promoting the sensitization and nationwide adoption of the Proof of Address programme.

‎Leading the delegation on behalf of the ALGON National President, Hon. Sam Akala provided a detailed overview of the project. He explained that the Proof of Address initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) and key partner agencies, including the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

‎Hon Akala stated that the Proof  of Address  initiative is established as  a unified, credible, and verifiable national address system that will serve as a foundational tool for governance and commerce.
