THERE IS DIGNITY IN LABOUR, DG NYSC TELLS CORPS MEMBERS

Following their Orientation Course, Corps Members have been advised to be diligent in their respective Places of Primary Assignment.

Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, stated that their work ethic, selfless service, tenacity, and devotion to the program should be demonstrated by their behavior as excellent representatives of the program during their year of service.

Speaking to the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream One Corps Members at the NYSC Kebbi State Orientation Camp in Dakingari, the DG made this statement.

The Corps Members were encouraged by General Nafiu to become friends with one another and learn about other cultures. After that, he advised them not to burn bridges but to work toward maintaining the friendships they had made during the Orientation Exercise and the remainder of the service year.

They were tasked by the DG to continue honing the skills they had learned through the NYSC’s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Program. For him, learning new skills is a key component of Nigeria’s efforts to eradicate poverty.

He also counseled the Corps Members to stay away from anything that might put them in danger and to always be security conscious.

The Director General went on to say that NYSC is not only intended to promote national unity and cohesion, strengthen national integration, promote cultural heritage, and expose the next generation of leaders to Nigerian reality; it is also intended to help develop business ideas and promote cultural integration throughout the nation.

Mr. Bala Dabo, the coordinator for Kebbi State, stated that since the start of the orientation exercise, all 904 Corps members—521 men and 383 women—have been excellent and well-behaved.

He praised their degree of self-control, dedication, and tenacity in following all camp guidelines.
