The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye, on the occasion of his birthday.

The Union, in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Ahmed ‘Lanre Abdullateef; and Secretary, Mahmood Olayinka Alaya, described Ajakaye as a seasoned journalist and consummate media professional whose contributions to the growth of journalism and effective public communication in the state remain commendable.

According to the statement, the NUJ identified with the Chief Press Secretary and acknowledged his dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to projecting the policies and programmes of the Kwara State government with accuracy and responsibility.

The Union prayed the Almighty Allah to grant him sound health, long life, and renewed strength while also wishing him greater wisdom and continued success in the discharge of his duties to the state and the journalism profession at large.

The NUJ urged him to sustain his exemplary conduct and support for the media, which, it noted, has continued to foster a cordial relationship between the government and journalists in the state.
