Live a Life of Service, Remember Death Always – Ilorin Chief Imam Urges Muslims

The Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Dr Muhammed Bashir Salihu, has urged Muslims to devote themselves to the service of God and humanity, stressing that good deeds remain the true legacy after death.

He gave this charge on Sunday during the Fidau prayer for the late Alhaji Isiaka Sulaiman at Ile-Alagba Compound in Okeleru, Ilorin.

Imam Salihu reminded attendees of the inevitability of death and the need to live a life that will earn divine favour in the hereafter.

“We came into this world with nothing, and we will leave with nothing. Let us therefore commit ourselves to good deeds and service to others. This is the true path to success in the sight of Allah,” he said.

The Chief Imam emphasized that Islam promotes peace and urged Nigerians of all faiths to tolerate one another for national unity and peaceful coexistence.

“Islam stands for peace and respect for others, regardless of their religion. We must embrace love and understanding in our daily lives,” he added.

Imam Salihu also extended his condolences to Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, former Minister and current Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), over the loss of his brother.

He advised the children of the late Alhaji Isiaka Sulaiman to carry on his legacy of humility, love and service to humanity.

Also speaking at the prayer session, the Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa, described the deceased as a contented man who lived a peaceful life.

“Alhaji Isiaka was a man of peace, contentment and simplicity. His life should be a model for others,” Sheikh Onikijipa stated.

The event was attended by religious leaders, family members and sympathisers who came to honour the memory of the late community elder.
