The Kwara North Integrity Youth Forum (KNIYF) has commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unprecedented developmental achievements in Kwara North, particularly the 200km Bode-Saadu to Kaiama road project valued at ₦250 billion, described as the largest single road project in the state’s history.
In a statement issued by the group’s secretary, Mohammed Dauda Baniya, on Wednesday in Ilorin, the forum also applauded the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) for successfully hosting its annual general convention. The group emphasized its commitment to strengthening the bond between Kwara North and the Ilorin Emirate, referring to both regions as “brothers.”
Baniya highlighted Governor AbdulRazaq’s efforts in other key areas, including the Duku irrigation and Lade projects, while dismissing criticisms from the Kwara North Development Commission (KNDC), which it described as a “faceless group.”
“The so-called KNDC is a faceless group with no traceable identity. Their criticisms are not representative of the good and appreciative people of Kwara North,” Baniya declared. “It is ironic that individuals with no track record of facilitating development in Kwara North have emerged to criticize a governor who has consistently demonstrated genuine commitment to addressing our challenges.”
The KNIYF labeled the critics as “fifth columnists driven by envy” and urged the IEDPU to ignore politically motivated attacks intended to disrupt the state’s harmony.
The group reaffirmed its support for equity and fairness among Kwara’s senatorial districts and endorsed the aspiration for a Kwara North governor in the future.
“These chaos merchants seeking to truncate our peaceful coexistence are doomed to fail. Their evil machinations against the state’s harmony will never manifest,” the statement concluded.
