Engr. Conrad Terhide Utaan Supports Party’s Decision to Zone the POD National Chairman to  North-Central

Engr. Conrad Terhide Utaan, a National Chairman aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has endorsed the party’s decision to zone the National Chairman position to the North-Central, calling it both fair and necessary for party unity.

During a press conference in Abuja, Utaan stated that since the former National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, hails from the North-Central, it is only right for someone from the same zone to complete Ayu’s unfinished tenure.

He emphasized that the PDP Constitution supports this approach, which stipulates that any replacement for a removed official must come from the same area.

Utaan added that he is fully aware the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party will make the final decision on the matter. As a dedicated party member, he remains committed to respecting whatever decision the NEC reaches.

Utaan further remarked that should the NEC, in its wisdom, decide that the current Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun, should continue in his role,
