Prof Adamu Ahmed has been picked as the new Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University by the institution’s Governing Council.

Ahmed teaches at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the institution’ according to statement released by Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (VID), Wednesday, 5th February, 2025.

He was a one time Director of the institution’s Directorate of University Advancement, Prof Ahmed is the current Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano.

Prof Ahmed’s appointment was announced at 6:15 am today (Wednesday, 5th February, 2025) during the 209th (Special) Council meeting presided over by its Chairman, Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, CFR, the statement added.
