INTERIOR MINISTRY CELEBRATES 31 RETIRING OFFICERS, COMMENDS THEIR YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE‎

‎The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, has commended 31 retiring officers of the Ministry for their dedication, sacrifices and contributions to national development, describing their years of service as a lasting investment in the future of the country.

‎Dr. Ajani made this commendation at the send-forth ceremony for the retiring officers held on Wednesday, 30th September 2026, at Silver Green Hotels, Gudu, Abuja.
‎
‎Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary conveyed the Hon. Minister’s goodwill and his best wishes to the retirees, and expressed appreciation to them for dedicating 35 years of their lives to the service of the nation, noting that their contributions would continue to have a positive impact on future generations. She urged them to remain grateful to God, maintain good health and make full use of the health insurance cover in their retirement.

‎Dr. Ajani encouraged the retirees to strengthen their relationships with their families, contribute to their communities and serve as mentors to younger generations. She also advised them to explore small businesses and other productive activities to remain financially independent rather than relying solely on their children for support.
‎
‎The Permanent Secretary further urged the retirees to see retirement as an opportunity to begin a new chapter of life, remain active and continue contributing to society through service to God and humanity.

‎Earlier, the Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Catherine Zozi, in her welcome address, appreciated the 31 retiring officers for their commitment and valuable contributions to the Ministry, wishing them good health, peace, happiness and a fulfilling retirement.
‎
‎On behalf of the Management and staff of the Ministry, the Director, congratulated the retirees, noting that their years of service and contributions would remain appreciated by the Ministry and the nation, noting that the seeds of service they had sown would continue to benefit future generations.
