Kwara Rice Farmers Hail AbdulRazaq’s Support, Seek More Backing to Boost Production

Rice farmers in Kwara State have commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his developmental strides over the past six years, especially in supporting agriculture and enhancing food production across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Kwara State chapter, the state coordinator, Mallam Mohammed Salihu, described the governor’s leadership as impactful and transformative.

“Governor AbdulRazaq has shown uncommon dedication in steering the state towards progress. His efforts have placed Kwara as a pacesetter in agricultural development,” Salihu said in a congratulatory message marking the governor’s sixth year in office.

He specifically appreciated the administration’s provision of subsidised farm inputs, tractor services, and irrigation facilities to rice farmers, describing it as a first in the state’s history.

“These interventions have gone a long way in supporting our members, improving yield, and encouraging more people to go into rice farming,” he added.

While reaffirming the association’s continued support for the state government’s food security agenda, Salihu called on the governor to expand access to inputs and mechanisation tools, noting that doing so would further boost rice production and reduce dependency on imports.

“As you reflect on your achievements and plan for the future, may your vision for a prosperous Kwara grow even stronger,” Salihu stated.

He expressed confidence that with the governor’s track record, the remaining two years of his second term would witness even greater accomplishments in the agricultural sector and beyond.
