The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has congratulated the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, on his conferment with an honorary Fellowship Award by the Kwara State College of Education, Oro.
The award was bestowed on him during the institution’s 13th Combined Convocation ceremony held on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
In a statement, ALGON commended the college management for recognizing Prince Fagbemi’s contributions to education and community development, particularly through human capital advancement and political mobilization in Kwara State.
The association, led by Abubakar Abdullahi Danladi, noted that the event also honored several other distinguished personalities, including academics, educationists, public servants, business leaders, and political figures, with many APC chieftains among the awardees.
Speaking on the recognition, Danladi described it as a well-deserved honour, highlighting Fagbemi’s role in fostering political unity and stability in the state.
“For Fagbemi, it is an honour well deserved because he has been an instrument towards fostering unity and progress within the political class, which has translated into a stable polity in the state. His accolade serves as an inspiration to other political leaders across the broader community,” Danladi stated.
He further expressed optimism that Fagbemi would continue prioritizing education and community service, shaping the future of young people and strengthening the foundation of society.
